I've had a couple of drivers bought out (one was immediately after I took over Panther, which was nice, because I wanted to bring in my own drivers and the $6 million was useful), it generally only plays out if the driver is either really good, or has a longer contract. For instance, if you have a few laps of fuel/tires left and you can see his tires are super worn, it might be better just back off a little untill he pits - and then you can push a little more to make up the time.ĭriversTip from: if you ever need to replace a driver before their contract is up, just demote them to reserve and hope that the drop in morale leads to a contract buyout. If you are faster than the guy in front of you, but not overtaking - this will actually increase your wear/temps over time as you're constantly having to slow down and speed up, so if you can overtake by pushing for 15 seconds this is better in the long run - usually, this is alll very depending on wear/temps and current race situation. So only do this if you have loads of tire to spare(running out of fuel, last laps etc, weather changing etc.) In general, it is advisable to try and keep your temps in the sweet spot at all times - this gives you room to push/attack if you need it, and will keep your average lap times as high as they can be while not being ineffective with your tires. Also, pushing hot tires will cause them to decline drastically and increases your risk of lock-ups. If you're having to push your temps to the max to pass someone, only to conserve for the next 5 laps - you'll most likely just get overtaken again unless your car is much faster. BUT a car pushing hot tires will still go faster than a car on default setting with perfect temperatures if both sets are qually worn. The performance will also be impacted by the tire temperature. Your tires will decline faster if they are hot or cold, so spend a little time in practise figuring out how much you can push your tires before they start heating up, and how much you have to ease off to get them to drop. RacingTires - Worn tires perform worse than fresh tires, try and manage your wear throughout the race. Other notable perks are 'Risk taker' which reduces the chance of making mistakes when doing fast pitstops and 'Super overtake' which will give you an even bigger boost than overtake at the cost of conditionloss and fuel. For instance 'nurse' that drastically lowers the wear and tear on parts during a race is fantastic for getting newly developed parts on the track in a hurry, or at the start of the season it can more or less get you through a race without having to repair at all even when starting with 50% parts.
